The National Monuments Service's description
Situated on the shore of Lough MacNean Upper. Raised oval area (int. dims. 41.6m N-S; 31.4m E-W) enclosed by a substantial although largely collapsed drystone wall which has been denuded at SW, N and SE. Original entrance not recognisable. Internal area has been planted with trees and supports scrub.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cavan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1995). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
