The National Monuments Service's description

Rectangular church (int. dims. 20.8m E-W; 5.8m N-S) constructed of roughly coursed limestone blocks and rubble. Beam-holes in N and S walls at W end of church are almost certainly for carrying a loft. Large blocks of masonry in W wall possibly belong to an earlier church. Remaining features include a three-light round-headed window with glazing-bar holes, in E gable, small plain flat-headed windows in N and S walls of nave, and small round-headed windows in N and S walls of chancel. No evidence of W doorway or window. (Davies 1939, 98-102; Lowry-Corry 1939, 102-4; Davies 1948, 98)

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cavan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1995). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
