The National Monuments Service's description

Small circular drystone-built structure (int. diam. 1.3m; H 1.9m) of beehive-type construction, roofed internally by two flat slabs. Low lintelled entrance at N (H 0.55m; Wth 0.5m). Richardson (1939, 35) recorded a chimney on S side.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cavan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1995). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
