The National Monuments Service's description

In pasture, on isthmus to E of Crookhaven. Remains of wall (8.5m NE-SW; max. H 3.3m; wall thickness 0.7m) along S side of road; coursed rubble construction; possibly associated with fish palace mentioned by Went (1946, 146-147).

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 1: West Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1992). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
