The National Monuments Service's description
O Murchadha (1988, 73-82) locates the castle of Dun Mic Oghmainn in the vicinity of Myross church (CO151-024002-), probably on seaward side. There appear to be no overground remains and the castle may 'have crumbled over the cliff long since'.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 1: West Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1992). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
