The National Monuments Service's description
According to Kelleher (2008), 'Teig O'hidriskoll's goodly moated site' which is referred to in 1538 may be located on the E side of Church Strand Bay where 'a small portion of stone-walling is evident on the northern side of this part of the shore'. Adjacent to this on the SE side are 'upstanding walls possibly forming part of a bawn area' (CO150-089002-). Adjacent to the N is 'an area of the foreshore that was deliberately cleared to allow small craft to land there' (ibid.).
The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 5' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2009).
