The National Monuments Service's description

Rectangular tower-house (9.1m N-S; 11.4m E-W) in elevated position on SE shore Roaringwater Bay; on N side neck of Cunnamore promontory. Now two storeys in height but stood at least one storey higher. Doors in E wall at ground and 1st floor levels (set one above the other); 1st floor door covered by pointed arch. Windows have square-headed lights with splayed and lintelled embrasures. Pointed wicker-centered vault over 1st floor (axis E-W). Mural stairs rise from S side of 1st floor doorway to SE corner where wall now broken. Castle of the O'Driscoll clan, reputedly built in 1495 (Coleman 1926, 47).
