The National Monuments Service's description
Fragmentary remains of tower on short promontory projecting from N shore of Castle Island in Roaringwater Bay. West wall stands to three storeys (6.8m N-S) with short returns to N (int. 4.5m) and S (int. 1m). Window with flat-headed light at 1st floor level in N wall only surviving ope. Castle of O Mahony clan (O Murchadha 1985, 232).
