This structure is referred to in the 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork - vol. 1 West Cork' (1992, 272) under the entry (no. 2568) for an early ecclesiastical enclosure (CO148-017008-). It is mentioned in the entry as follows: In SE quadrant is circular stone-built structure (ext. diam. 8.5m; int. diam. 5m); wall (H 1.6m) roughly built with opening to SE.
