The National Monuments Service's description
In rough pasture, on bog, to the S and SE of a small lake in a NE-SW valley. A network of relict stone field boundaries (T 0.55m; H 0.5m), consisting of stones that protrude intermittently from the bog, occurs in an irregularly shaped area (c. 250m NE-SW x c. 100m NW-SE) to the S and SE of a small unnamed lake. Long moorgrass hides many of the stones, making it difficult to determine the extent of the relict field boundaries.
The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 5' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2009).
