The National Monuments Service's description
Narrow neck of promontory defended by late medieval defences (CO145-002---). According to Westropp (1914, 115), on landward side of these defences, there was a 'straight fosse 40 feet long, 8 feet wide and 6 feet deep at the ends'; this is now a barely perceptible dip in ground- eroded at edges. Casey (2003, 70) noted a possible house site (CO145-003001-) in the interior of the fort.
