The National Monuments Service's description
McCarthy (1977, 326) lists a souterrain in the townland of Ahaglaslin which was found some time before 1970. It was mentioned to E. Fahy who investigated another souterrain (CO143-070----) at Little-Island (NMI file), which is the adjoining townland to the S. There was no local knowledge of a souterrain in Ahaglaslin when enquiries were made in 1985. Its precise location remains unknown.
The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 5' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2009).
