The National Monuments Service's description
Small corn store complex on E shore of Castlehaven inlet in Castletownshend. Four-bay, 2-storey structure built into slope of hill. At N end of wide pier stand remains of second structure, single storey with central archway over slipway; furnace at E end.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 1: West Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1992). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
