The National Monuments Service's description
Upright stone (H 1.45m; 0.35m; 0.16m) within cashel (CO142-070001-), adjacent to entrance. According to Somerville (1931, 10) the stone stood in entrance way but was 'not in original position' and was removed for safety to inside cashel where it now stands. On N face, deeply incised Greek cross (H 0.2m; Wth 0.2m) with expanded terminals. On S face cruder incised cross (L 0.2m; Wth 0.22m).
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 1: West Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1992). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
