The National Monuments Service's description
On rock outcrop with commanding view in all directions. Mentioned by Coleman (1927, 98) as 'still standing at the beginning of the 17th century'. No visible trace of structure. According to local information, stones from castle incorporated into adjacent farm buildings. O'Driscoll castle (O Murchadha 1985, 178).
