The National Monuments Service's description
Depression in centre of ringfort (CO141-031001-) indicates position. O'Cuileanain, in 1943, records partly collapsed souterrain with several chambers and creepholes (UCC). McCarthy (1977, 348-9) mentions further collapse in 1970 which was filled in.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 1: West Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1992). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
