The National Monuments Service's description
Remnants of E section of Cosheen mining complex surviving as ruined mining structures; further remains to W (CO139-042001-). Recently demolished engine house with chimney stood on E side of complex (pers. comm. Dr. W. O'Brien).
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 1: West Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1992). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
