The National Monuments Service's description

In rough pasture, broken by rock outcrop, E of Mount Gabriel. Rectangular unroofed structure (int. L 2.2m N-S; 2.40m E-W: D 1.15m) built into slope of hill. Lintelled ope in S wall. Known locally as "Burnt Graf field" (top sods burnt for fertiliser).

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 1: West Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1992). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
