In a rath (CO139-009----), off-centre to the N. In 1999 local non-archaeological investigations led to the discovery of a shaft (0.72m E-W; 0.43m N-S; D 1.3m) which was filled with rubble. When the rubble was removed the shaft was found to lead to an earth-cut dome-shaped passage (c. 2m NNW-SSE; 0.95m NNE-SSW; H 0.63m) which was dry when first exposed but which was waterlogged when inspected. A short creepway (Wth 0.61m) at the S end of the passage leads into a small subrectangular earth-cut chamber (L 1.8m; min. Wth 1m). The chamber is roofed by four lintels. The most southerly lintel is a large square slab (c. 1m by x c. 1m) while the other three are rectangular (Wth c. 0.2m). The chamber is filled with earth to within 0.3-0.4m of its roof, obscuring any further features.
