The National Monuments Service's description
Discovered during excavation of Lisnagun ringfort (CO135-031001-) 1987/88; partially excavated. Collapsed earth-cut, barrel-vaulted, chamber (L 4m; Wth 1.6m; H 1.4m). Associated trench (L c. 5.5m; Wth 1.2m; D 1.6m) possibly eroded entrance, creepway and chamber. Trench terminated by possible air vent (pers. comm. J. O'Sullivan).
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 1: West Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1992). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
