The National Monuments Service's description

In graveyard (CO135-053001-), the church has been completely removed by Cork County Council during road widening. Photographs taken 1981 show N and W walls standing c. 1m high (pers. comm. John Davies). Webster (1932, 273-4) illustrates unusual recess in W gable, which he interpreted as "unusual arrangement... for ringing the sacred bell"; he gives dimensions of building as '23ft 4in x 15ft 4in'.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 1: West Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1992). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
