The National Monuments Service's description
On a natural ridge of rock that extends in an E-W direction and which is largely obscured by gorse bushes. This rock was described in March 1994 as featuring 'cup and circles' (SMR file). This entire length of the exposed rock surface at the location indicated was examined and no trace of the 'cup and circles' was found. The surrounding area was also searched and only natural features were noted. Enquiries locally failed to locate this possible rock art.
The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 5' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2009).

In rough, improved pasture (75m OD), on S side of a rock outcrop. Mount Gabriel is clearly visible to SW. Not located; Area obscured by dense overgrowth and not seen. Large, oblong expanse of rock outcrop across this area, however no motifs were visible. Another area of rock outcrop adjacent to E is covered by thick mosses and grasses which are too dense to investigate. According to Dose (21/03/1994), this rock art example was located on top of a ridge and the decorative elements consisted of cup-and-ring motifs. Ronan et al (2009, 43) indicates that this rock art was not located during a field survey in 2005.
