The National Monuments Service's description
In pasture, on a level break on a S-facing slope with views S over Bantry Bay and the Sheep's Head Peninsula. A roughly circular area (diam. 30m N-S) is defined by a scarp (H 1-1.6m) NW-SW. A field boundary and stream truncate the W arc. It is known locally as 'the lios'. According to local information, a souterrain (CO128-033002-), long since closed up, exists within the rath.
The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 5' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2009).
