The National Monuments Service's description
On S-facing rocky hillside. Large sub-rectangular area (c. 400m NE-SW; c. 220m NW-SE) defined by dry stone wall (H c. 1m) to W, N and E; with coast cliffs to S. W side follows line of mountain stream. According to local tradition place where cattle were pounded by Puxley's caretaker and called"Buaille Caiseal".
1. Small subcircular enclosure (14.2m N-S; 12.3m E-W) depicted on OS 6-inch map (1902) lies in N half of enclosure. Situated at E side of rock outcrop atop slight terrace. Interior defined by stone wall (H 0.8m; Wth 0.45m) to E; stone faced scarp to S; wall running along sharp rise to W acts as facing. Interior level to E and S, heavily overgrown with bracken; W side slopes down steeply to E.
2. Small rectangular structure depicted on OS 6-inch map (1901) c. 60m to W of above enclosure 1, appears to have been removed by modern trackway. (CMSS)
