The National Monuments Service's description

In pasture, on S-facing slope. According to local tradition, site of ringfort; levelled c. 1979. Curve (W->NNE) in field fence system depicted on 1902 OS 6-inch map. Slightly raised circular area (diam. c. 42m N-S) survives. Circular enclosure (CO124-065----) from aerial photograph immediately to SW. Inadvertently included in the Archaeological Inventory of Co. Cork, Vol. 1 (West Cork), No. 1989.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 2: East and South Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1994). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
