The National Monuments Service's description
In ringfort (CO122-026001-). Described initially by Caulfield (1847-50, 387-8) as 'cavity (diam. '6 feet') with two circular ends connected by rectangular passage ('14 feet, 9 inches long')'. Cavity contained 'enormous quantities of bone, teeth and charcoal'. Investigated by McCarthy (1977, 319-320) in 1976; chamber inaccessible. He noted four closed-up entrances at centre, W, S and N of ringfort; N entrance was a low earth-cut creepway surrounded by oval, embanked area. No visible surface trace.
