The National Monuments Service's description

In pasture, atop natural rise which slopes gently down to NNW. Circular raised area (20m N-W) enclosed by overgrown earthen bank (max. H 0.5m; max. ext. H 1.28m) NE->WNW; scarp (H 1.8m) to NW and N, with slight internal lip.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 1: West Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1992). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
