The National Monuments Service's description

On the S side of the 'Sheep's Head Way' walking route. A possible cairn (L c. 5m; Wth c. 2m) was recorded in Rooska East townland in 1997. It was described as being slightly wedge-shaped, on an E-W orientation and comprised a pile of relatively large-sized stones (pers. comm. Dr D.D.C. Pochin Mould). A subsequent inspection of the general area in April 2008 failed to locate this possible cairn.

The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 5' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2009).
