The National Monuments Service's description
In level reclaimed pasture, on a terrace on a S-facing slope overlooking Bere Island and the entrance to Berehaven Harbour. According to the landowner, the area where a 40m section of the NW-SE townland boundary with Curradonohoe curves c. 20m to the SW, has traditionally been known as a 'lios'. Some slight undulations were noted on the surface, but these most likely resulted from the reclamation work. The possible rath is not visible at ground level. A possible souterrain (CO115-127002-) is also at this location.
The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 5' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2009).
