The National Monuments Service's description
In rough undulating hill pasture, on a W-facing slope. Turf-cutting has exposed a network of several stretches of relict stone field boundaries (max. T 0.6m; max. H 0.5m) throughout an irregularly shaped area (c. 700m N-S; c. 600m E-W). The relict walls are mainly curvilinear and consist of stones that protrude intermittently above the remaining uncut bog. The stones are set generally at right angles to the line of the wall. In marshy hollows the walls run on into the uncut bog. There are several gaps and breaks in the walls. There are seven hut sites (CO115-090002-, CO115-090003-, CO115-090006-, CO115-090007-, CO115-090008-, CO115-090009- and CO115-090010-), a fulacht fia (CO115-090004-) and an enclosure (CO115-090005-) within the field boundary network.
The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 5' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2009).
