In rocky mountain pasture, on terrace of S-facing slope, overlooking Bear Haven to S. Large flat topped boulder (2.4m x 2.55m; 0.61m T) rests on six support stones, three of which have pad stones. Known locally as "mass rock", near by is Mass House (CO115-067---).
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 1: West Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1992). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
