The National Monuments Service's description

In centre of graveyard (CO114-026001-) ruins of parish church (L c. 23m, Wth c. 7m); according to Downes, church measured '50ft. x 16ft.' (Lunham 1909, 166) but Webster gives '72ft. x 18ft.' (Webster 1932, 286). Three ivy-clad sections of walling stand: N half of E gable and adjacent section of N wall, and two sections of S wall. Door probably where S wall now ends. Two windows in S wall, a central E window and window near E end of N wall; no light details. Church in ruins by 1615 (Brady 1863, Vol. 2, 522) but 'greater parts of walls are standing' in 1700 (Lunham 1909, 166). Replaced by plain rectangular church (12.4m SW-NE; 7.8m SE-NW), built immediately NW of graveyard, in 1842; now roofless with ruined porch against W gable.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 1: West Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1992). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
