The National Monuments Service's description

Single storey remains of early 19th century house. Built by G. Allman (Ó Donnchadha 1985, 5), the owner of Overton Cotton Mills (CO110-050---) which it overlooks to NE. Weather slated 5-bay, originally 2-storey with hipped roof; central round-headed door ope approached by arched stairway. Curtain wall connects to pedimented gable of farm buildings; niches incurtain wall and gables.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 1: West Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1992). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
