The National Monuments Service's description

In pasture, on N-facing slope. Slight hollow (diam. 30m) remains at N end of field, locally said to be position of church site and burial ground. According to O'Riordain (1931, 5-6), site of cill and associated holy well. O'Donoghue (1986, 133) refers to Killountain as Cill Fhionntain - St.Fintan's church.
