The National Monuments Service's description
Described in 1938 as 'a fulacht-fiadh on the edge of a stream, less than a quarter of a mile [400m] S.W. of Mr. Carey's farmhouse (O.S. 6-inch sheet, Cork, 109). The site is about 250 yards [228.6m] south of the elaborate rock-cut souterrain [CO109-023----] discovered also by Mr. Carey some years ago and about the same distance north-west of an earthen ring-fort [CO109-024----].' (Anon 1938, 56-7). Despite local enquiries in 2005, this fulacht fia has not been precisely located. A stone club-like implement (L 24.7cm) with a rough cutting edge, was found in the course of ploughing in the vicinity of the fulacht fia (ibid.).
