The National Monuments Service's description
In level pasture on N bank river Dirty. A McCarthy castle of the late 15th century, demolished to supply stones for flour mill (CO107-037---) (O'Donoghue 1986, 75). Dismantled c. 1830, according to Healy (1988, 256). No visible surface trace.
