The National Monuments Service's description
In pasture, on the top of a ridge. An opening (1.2m x 1.7m) appeared when the ground collapsed during silage cutting in 1992 revealing a waterlogged souterrain. The souterrain consists of at least four earth-cut chambers. Chamber 1 (1.85m NNE-SSW; 1.7m ESE-WNW; H 0.84m) is roughly circular in plan with a rounded roof and was entered through the collapsed opening. It was partially filled with earth from the collapse. A construction shaft (Wth 0.6m; H 0.8m), blocked with stones, was evident at SSW and there was a creepway (Wth 0.38m; L 0.22m; H 0.47m) at SSE leading into a second chamber. Chamber 2 (3.25m NW-SE; 2.06m NE-SW; H c. 1m) is roughly rectangular in plan with a rounded roof and is partially filled with collapsed earth. A construction shaft (Wth 0.7m; H 0.58m) is visible at W. A creepway (Wth 0.41m; L 0.45m; H 0.43m) at the SE end leads into a third earth-cut chamber which was waterlogged and inaccessible at the time of inspection. It was possible to see another creepway at the SE end of Chamber 3 which presumably leads into at least one other chamber.
