The National Monuments Service's description
In rough hill pasture, on cutaway bog on the lower N-facing slopes of Tooreennamna Mountain. A horseshoe-shaped mound (11.7m N-S; 9m E-W; H 1.6m) with its opening (Wth 3.4m) facing a wet area immediately to the E. The mound is covered with grass and gorse but a sheep path has exposed heat-shattered stones and charcoal-enriched soil along its N side. Two boulders lie in the opening and the remains of an old field wall runs up to the crest of the mound on the S side. There is a standing stone (CO102-006002-) c. 50m to the WSW and a stone circle (CO102-006001-) c. 70m to the WSW.
The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 5' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2009).
