The National Monuments Service's description
In rough pasture, on the E bank of a stream on the lower N-facing slopes of Tooreennamna Mountain. A D-shaped grass-covered mound (7.4m E-W; straight W side: L 9.3m N-S; H 0.4m). A layer (L 9.3m N-S; H 0.7m) of heat-shattered stones and charcoal-enriched soil is exposed in the face of the stream bank due to erosion. A fulacht fia (CO102-005005-) lies c. 120m to the E and there is a cashel (CO102-005001-) 15m to the SW.
The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 5' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2009).
