The National Monuments Service's description
Mulcahy (1991, 32) records 'a small field called An Liosachán' in which was found a 'large number of subterranean chambers....the roofs of which had collapsed'. Tradition that one chamber was used as a forge at beginning of 19th century. Exact location not known.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 2: East and South Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1994). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
