The National Monuments Service's description

On top of a hill. Landowner remembers "small fort" on site. According to Ó Riordain (1932, 18), an old church (CO096-053002-) was 'on a high site in this townland'; field known as 'The Graveyard Field'. No visible surface trace.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 1: West Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1992). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
