The National Monuments Service's description
In rough hill pasture, on bog on a N-facing ridge slope with a view to Barraboy Mountain. A network of relict stone field boundaries (T 0.5m; H 0.6m) protrudes intermittently above the surface of the bog in an irregularly shaped area (c. 140m N-S; c. 90m E-W). Several gaps occur along the mainly curvilinear field boundaries. Many of the stones are set at right angles to the line of the walls. There is a hut site (CO090-024002-) within the field boundary network.
The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 5' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2009).
