The National Monuments Service's description
On foothills of Barraboy Mountain on W-facing slope. Marked 'Old Burial Ground' on OS 6-inch map (1842). Subcircular area (12m N-S; 16m E-W) defined by mass of small stones and embedded boulders, probably grave markers.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 1: West Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1992). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
