The National Monuments Service's description

According to Power (1940, 104) inscribed stone once stood in a fence on road side in this townland. Inscription (not given) was read by Canon Smiddy c. 1860 and stone was subsequently removed and buried nearby. Exact location not known.

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 2: East and South Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1994). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
