The National Monuments Service's description
According to tradition, a castle named 'Caisleán Dhróilin' was located 'on the crest of a large limestone rock north-west of Shanbally Crossroads' (Healy 1988, 114). Healy suggests that stones from the castle were used in the construction of a nearby 19th-century limekiln (CO087-038----). There are no further references to a castle here (ibid.) and its existence is very doubtful.
