The National Monuments Service's description
According to Casey (1983) 'large stone of c. 2.4m x 1.22m x 0.45m decorated with spirals lay along a roadside ditch for some years'. He suggests it may have come from possible ringfort (CO086-054---). It disappeared during building to Carrigcourt housing estate. Exact original location and present whereabouts unknown.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 2: East and South Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1994). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
