The National Monuments Service's description

In ringfort (8528). Hartnett (1939, 302), recorded from local information a 'cave' in S half of ringfort and noted several partly filled holes as evidence. No visible surface trace. Pitt-Rivers c. 1865 investigated earth-cut, unrevetted chambers in two ringforts in Mylane but it is not possible to determine which ringforts are referred to (Twohig 1987, 43-4).

The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 3: Mid Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
