In reclaimed pasture. Two stones indicated on all three editions of the OS 6-inch maps and named 'Gallauns' (1842, 1904) and 'Galláin' (1943). Single upright stone (H 1.4m; 1.10m, x 0.8m; long axis NE-SW). Second stone (H 1.3m; 1.3mx 0.6m), leaning to S, stands c. 3m to N. Immediately N of this is an anomalous group of five boulders (CO083-063002-) surrounding a tree (they have not been placed there within living memory).
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 3: Mid Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
