The National Monuments Service's description

In quarry, built against rockface. Front (H c. 7.5m; Wth 6m) SE-facing; arched recess (H 2.4m; Wth 2.45m; D 2m), lintelled at rear. Original stone-arched recess partially infilled at top; now supported by lower brick arch. Rear of kiln enclosed by wall (H 1.8m) with ope (Wth 1.3m) in E elevation; ramp on W side. Stone-lined funnel (max. Wth 2.65m) beaker-shaped in cross-section.
