The National Monuments Service's description
In pasture, atop hill. Heavily overgrown, roughly circular mound (max. H 1.55m; c. 14m E-W; c. 13m N-S). According to Coleman (1894, 35) locally called Móinteán an t-Rígean (Fairy Hill); 'It stood fifteen feet high; but was levelled by the present tenant all but a small portion, which yet remains untilled; during levelling 'three cists or graves were found 'containing 'human remains'.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork. Volume 2: East and South Cork' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1994). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
